A Plug For My Bro!!

9 06 2009

Sometimes I am a fan of some of his music, other times I feel it is a massive 15 minute long solo-fest that should never have started. So I searched long and hard for a song of his that isn’t a solo upon solo and came across this particular video. Sure it isn’t the greatest quality, and most parts could use alot of work, but its a start. If there is any interest at all in this music then I will continue to find some of his other stuff, or push him to make some more, otherwise, we can’t pretend this was never posted.

And just because I feel like it, I will add a second piece, which is significantly more raw, and that has apparently been redone.

And So It Begins (Playlist #1)

9 06 2009

I plan on developing some sort of method involving themes of the day, or style of the day, or something that will allow some flow to the progression of each particular playlist. However, since I am just trying to get this section off the ground at this point I have decided that perhaps I will just post the songs and have them accompanied by a video of the band performing the song. Hopefully this will become more elaborate as time goes by.

Generally plan on posting the ten (10) songs that best fit whatever each playlist is trying to accomplish. These songs will be in no particular order unless otherwise specified, and rarely will I offer more then ten (as to not compromise the quality of the list). However, if there is a band that I am really trying to push for some reason, I will provide them as an encore, so that they can listened to, but perhaps not taken at the same level as the rest of the list.

So, I will just get on with the playlist  now.

  1. Triumph — The Blinding Light Show &
  2. Supertramp — Goodbye Stranger
  3. Blink 182 — A New Hope
  4. Goldfinger — Superman
  5. John Mayer — Gravity
  6. Plain White T’s — Radio’s in Heaven
  7. Foghat — Slow Ride
  8. America — Ventura Highway
  9. Styx — Renegade
  10. Humble Pie — 30 Days in the Hole

The Rules of My Head

9 06 2009

Music has the ability to be comforting, exciting, humourous, religous, or almost anything else that the mind can envision it being. It can lift people from the depths of dispair, or it can deepen their sorrows. But it also has the ability to thrill and entertain. And this entertainment can come through a vast assortment of genres ranging from folk to heavy metal. But this brings us to the one main rule of this site…..

NO COUNTRY OR RAP

……. Becuase we all know if you mix country and rap, all you end up with is C-RAP!! They are the two genres that deserve no mention on this site outside of them being mentioned in the rules stating to not mention them to begin with. They are the fools of the musical world, the peasants beneath the kings of rock and roll, and ultimately too unimportant to write about from this point forward.

With that being said, all forms of “good” music will be included in the discussion on this site, whether it be classic rock, metal, techno, alternative, or even jazz if it so happens to catch my ear.

So from this point forward, enjoy the Concert In My Head as it is played out before you.
